Emergency Operations Planning for Schools

Welcome to the EOP for Schools System Demo

Welcome to the Emergency Operations Planning for Schools program. This tool was originally developed for the State of Texas to comply with State Senate Bill 11, which requires all school districts in the state to develop and maintain a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan. The tool was built by the Texas Engineering Extension Service in partnership with the Texas School Safety Center.
Online Demo
This online demo provides a way for you to experience the functionality of the tool and to see just how easy it is to use! The tool will guide you through a series of questions that will build the Situation & Assumptions section of your school or district-level emergency operations plan. You will also be able to review the Table of Contents to see what information the plan covers, and generate a sample final document. Please use Internet Explorer to ensure you can access all features of the system.
Getting Started
To begin, you will need to create an account within the system. Click here to create a new user account. Please note: for demo purposes, each individual will have their own user account and plan. However, multiple individuals are able to work together to create and modify the same plan in the full version, using a district or school-level password shared among the individuals who will be contributing to your plan.
How it Works
A dynamic Table of Contents serves as a progress guide and roadmap as you work through your plan. As you progress through the tool, you will be asked a series of questions regarding your school or district, emergency situations, personnel and resources, and assignment of responsibilities. As you complete each section of your plan, you will have the opportunity to review the complete text on the screen as it will appear in your final document. When you are finished, you may generate the Situation & Assumptions section of the basic Emergency Operations Plan. This document will output as a PDF document. Portions of the plan are based on generally accepted emergency management principles and have been designated as standard text. As such, not all of the plan can be edited.
We hope that you will benefit from this easy-to-use tool. By working together, we can make a difference.
